What I love most about her books is that each and every one is so unbelievably unique, the characters so spellbinding... and her ability to write mild erotic romance so tastefully done, that I usually spend quite a while (okay, I lie... days) after completion trying to get them out of my head and my mind focused on a new book. Without fail... (and not only with the On Dublin Street Series), she continues to impress me with her awesome writing. Each and every time.
I was a little bit concerned beforehand with this one. Mainly because we get to know Hannah right from the start of this series... and during that time and during most of the series she's pretty young. I would never have thought she'd get her own book eventually so before I began reading this, my major concern was if Samantha Young was going to be able to pull off doing a mild erotic romance about a female character that's already formed into our minds as the baby sister of Ellie & Bradon...
It's a tough transition for any author to make. Especially since Hannah is present in every single book - so we bonded with her a long time ago - and I was concerned that she would forever be stuck in my head as this young nerdy type girl who likes to read.
But it wasn't like that at all. In fact, I should have know that since she's always been rather mature throughout this series so far, that it wouldn't be hard to grasp that she's all grown up now.
The only issue I had with this book... but it's not a major factor, it's more of a personal dislike I have... is the repetition of all major character events from the past books. As each of the former characters appear, they receive a little back-story. Which is perfectly fine. It's no issue at all really. But I usually don't like those since 100% of the time I follow a series in perfect order so I'm aware of it all already. But I guess it's a safety net for authors to do in case a reader picks up this book without having read any of the previous books. So it's not at all a negative. I'm just not a huge fan of it.
This book took off fairly quickly. There was a moment when I began to wonder when Marco was going to make his appearance, but that was short-lived since it happened almost immediately when I began to question it.
There are two shocker moments in this book. The first, I predicted and once you get going you will too. The second I didn't. That caught me completely off-guard. Which was brilliant and emotional...
The relationship between Marco and Hannah is one of my favorites. I adored them both. Hannah I found to be kind of indecisive. I understood her pain. I felt as if I was living it alongside her. But she became frustratingly difficult to agree with at one point. Again, this was short-lived.
Overall, this book is about a first love, a first kiss, a first time and a first heartbreak - couple that with emotionally driven and incredibly sexy second (& third) chances... and you have a glorious whirlwind of drama that will have you close to tears (& the end of your seat).
For those of you who care to know... Marco is a total alpha with a hot body, who says the most perfect thing at exactly the right time. I fell in love and I fell hard.
Brilliantly written and magically emotional, Fall From India Place is the perfect blend of sexy and sweet.
