Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl. Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances.
Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Play, was even more amazing than Lick. In fact it's one of my 2014 Favorites and possibly my favorite Rocker / Sweet Girl themed book ever.
Where I didn't find my connection with David that instantly in Lick... Mal was completely the opposite. I adored him so much I'll soon reread this book just to have him in my life again. He was such an amazing alpha character and possibly again... one of my very favorites of all time.
Anne is even cuter. She's just so funny and sweet. Their relationship was again easily one of the best character relationships I've read in a very long time, if not ever.
Mal meets Anne at a party. Anne's in a little bit of a mess when her roommate moves out without telling her and then goes and takes all her furniture while still owing her a whole lot of money. Now Anne has no idea hows she's going to pay next months rent. She was barely getting by to begin with and so her life is in shambles. Mal overhears Anne on the phone while she chats to another friend regarding the situation and I'm going to guess he pretty much decides then and there he's going to help her out.
The fact that when they end up having a conversation and he's even more interested in her probably help cement his decision in the end.
Anne doesn't think Mal's plans for them are worth much. In fact she's laughs it off and just plays along when Mal tells the rest of the guests at the party that she's his girlfriend.
This is the first moment we get to see the fun and banter between the two and it doesn't stop there. This book was filled with so much humor - I was laughing loudly throughout.
I'm a little bummed that they took so long to end up being a 'real' couple. Although they definitely have a connection right from the start, I kind of hoped it would grow sooner than it did. But in the end I wouldn't change a thing.
This book was the perfect blend of hot alpha rocker / sweet, funny and humble girl! It was perfection right from the start and I freaking had a huge smile on my face when I got to the end. I definitely wouldn't say no to more of these two.
If you are considering options on what to read next... THIS IS THE ONE!
True Love, sexiness, steamy moments, shocking drama, quirky humor and perfectly written romance doesn't get better than this.
