Unbelievably Good! Sexy, Secretive and Seductive! I'm still going through the aftershocks... and all I can say is... wow!

Night Owl turned out to be nothing like I expected and everything that I'd hoped it would be. It was heartbreaking at times, quirky and fun at others... but as a whole it was just beautiful and so passionate I could feel the heat coming from my kindle.

It was the most unusual writing style yet the most awesome kind all at the same time. And I found myself entertained. In fact, it actually felt as if I was right there, living through each page with both characters. I can't even describe it to you.

As a whole, Night Owl covers a range of topics that are pretty tongue-in-cheek. For one, we have a couple who meet via the internet. They are both writers working together on a book. They agree to no personal contact or connections. Only writing related contact allowed. But of course, since they are only human... things don't go according to their original plans.

Then we have the aspect of phone sex, email sex and Skype sex... and it's a very erotic combination of sexual encounters that made me blush profusely. Yes. I blushed. But all the while... I loved it and gobbled it up.
"Hannah, never deny me," I whispered. My hands traveled over her, squeezing and pulling. "Never deny me your beautiful body."
"Never," she promised.
And then... finally we have the 'cheating' factor thrown in. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't really fall in love with the idea, however, the way in which Night Owl is done... you don't think about it that much at all. The only time I remembered, was during Matt's inner dialogue when he knew he was doing wrong. But with all fairness... I can't say I care very much at this point. I didn't get to know his girlfriend. I did get to know Hannah... and I loved her so much I wanted her to have everything Matt had to offer - girlfriend or not.

But don't panic. Matt does the right thing eventually. So yes, he cheated, but he's not all bad. Quite frankly I thought his GF was a cow anyway.

The thing to remember here is this...

Yes, it's not maybe something you enjoy (cheating couples) but as always, it's fiction. Yes we live it. Most of us breath fictional romance, but in the end it's good to have a little spice thrown in there every now and then. I admire authors who take a chance on a topic that are or could possibly be their books downfall... and yes, depending on how it all happens it can kill the book for most readers... but you can not deny the fact that sensitive topics, when done and written well with a great back story, add so much more character to what would really be a boring book if we took out everything that's considered taboo.

In this case, I must say, that if it wasn't for this little factor, (Matt having a GF) the experience we get from Night Owl, just wouldn't have been the same when we reach the plot's high point. It definitely adds to half of the emotions we experience between Hannah and Matt. So please don't deny yourself the beautiful experience of Night Owl simply because you have a strong adversity to cheating couples. Grit your teeth, bite your tongue and just breathe through it. It's not as bad as it sounds. I promise :)
“I’m trying to teach you this mysterious skill, one that you seem to lack. It’s called how to say goodbye.”
I smiled and rubbed the back of my neck.
“What are you grinning at?” she said.
“I never want to,” I said.
“What? Never want to what?”
“I never want to learn how to say goodbye.”

Another aspect about this book that I simply adored was that the writing style was simple yet brilliant. I actually felt like I was reading a book for adults, yet not necessarily for English professors. It was that perfect balance of great yet easy writing. I loved it to bits!

For a debut novel, Night Owl was unexpected that I'm shell shocked! It's not smut. It's not tacky romance (<--- I still love you)... it's colorful, bright, dark, sad, happy and funny... an experience that brought on such delight that I can't put enough emphasis on the fact that you Just. Have. To. Read. It!
