Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him, or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?

I admit that when I finished Come Away With Me (Book #1), I was sad that the second book would move onto Jules. But then I read Fight With Me and I soon forgot that I originally actually wanted Natalie back, because Jules was a darling and I loved Fight With Me. Then I had a small wish and alas, it never came true, because Play With Me went again with brand new characters, Will & Megan.
With that said, I adored Megan and I have a huge crush on Will right now :D
Luke, Natalie, Nate & Jules are long forgotten and it's all about Megan and Will right now. I was so sad when I got to the end. I wanted more and more and NOW? The fourth installment revolves around another and I'm pissed once again that this is happening lol...
Never-the-less, I doubt Kristen Proby will disappoint, because she's clearly brilliant at this writingbusiness lol.
Will Montgomery, brother of Jules from Book #2, is a hot, sexy as all heck football player who we get to know a little from the second book. We also have Meg making an appearance is Fight With Me and if you've read it, she doesn't take any of his 'I'm famous and want attention' crap. Play With Me actually takes off from the section in Fight With Me where Will and Jules are having coffee and Meg comes over to say hi. Meg & Jules know each other since they went to College together.
You get to understand the reason for Meg's cold shoulder towards Will and it's understandable - so that little mystery get's sorted out pretty quickly.
I think I fell in love with Meg from the first paragraph. She's great. Strong willed, confident and so cute! I loved her.
I think I fell in love with Will from the previous book and the crush only grew stronger throughout Play With Me.
What Did I love? I really loved their chemistry. I grinned the whole way through. I loved the ease I felt when they 'explored' one another. In some books it could come across as awkward, but not here. It was sexy, comfortable and exciting. I may even have learned a thing or two here lol.
“Okay, what are we drinking to this time?” I ask and look around the table at my friends and their men. All of the parents left the party a few hours ago, and all that’s left are Jules and Nate, Natalie and Luke, Stacy and Isaac, Brynna, Matt, Caleb and Will. All of the other guests have gone home, leaving the eleven of us to drink shots and laugh and catch up. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. If I drink this next shot, I just might forget the escapade in the bathroom with Will. Maybe. Probably not. Speaking of Will, he keeps watching me, sipping a beer, quiet. But I ignore him and lift another shot of tequila in the air. So far, we’ve toasted babies, rock and roll, tattoos, shopping, and shopping again. “Here’s to orgasms, and the three I’m going to have tonight!” Natalie exclaims, earning fits of giggles from the rest of us girls while the boys – all except for Luke – grumble about TMI. “To orgasms!” we all concur and slam the shot.
I loved that we got to rehash with Jules and Natalie. They were somewhat major characters in this book and I do love that because I still adore the two of them. Only now, Meg's added to that list, because I really loved her too.
As expected, Kristen Proby delivered a beautiful story, brilliantly written and well executed! I'll furthermore admit, that it could have had a more intense nail biting moment... it didn't really have one. Not one I can honestly say had me worked up about. Both Come Away With Me & Fight With Me both had romance drama... Play with me had it, but it was brief and not as effective as the last two were. I know many don't like it when couples split at some point in a romance novel, but we do need a reason to have our emotions jacked up a bit. In Play With Me, it was there, but milder. (if I have to compare it to the previous two)
If you hate 'breakup' moments, it's safe to say that you should be pleased with Play With Me. It's minor, no time is wasted.
I enjoyed the switch in POV's between Will & Meg. I can't actually remember, but I believe that's something new from how the previous two books went. Or at the very least, it's more of a consistent switch, we get to know what's happening in both Will's & Meg's heads during the book. I really enjoyed that. But essentially the book focuses mainly on Meg... and I'm happy about that too :D
Overall? Play With Me was sexy and fun. I honestly enjoyed it tremendously and I'll definitely be continuing with this series moving forward. In fact, right now I really feel like giving the previous two books another go... this entire series so far, is just soooo damn good :D
