He's not a man to be taken lightly, and Jules Montgomery is about to find out just how he responds to being pushed aside after the best night of sex he's ever had. For no other reason other than that I was in love with Nat & Luke and I was a little upset that this wasn't actually a book focusing on the continuation of their relationship. So yes... I was down about that, but because I loved the previous book so much, I couldn't overlook reading this one.
It is very hard to learn to accept new characters in a series, when you were so obsessed with the previous ones and many times it's hard for the author to create a new story with new personalities that you will love equally as much. Well... Obviously Kristen Proby doesn't have that problem. She's great with character development and I didn't miss Nat & Luke once while I read this book. I liked that we got to touch ground with them... but they were not at all key players in this book...
It was all about Jules and Nate... and oh boy was there heaps of hotness in this read.
You will find no complaints about this book from me. I loved it and I couldn't read it fast enough. Kristen Proby knocked my pink polka dot socks right off of me... again and I'm so happy I take any of the negative reviews about this book to heart. Because I would have been the dumbest woman around if I had not gone with the choice of reading this one.
Nate is amazing. I really loved him to bits. He is sexy and I didn't even mind the long hair (I really hate when male characters have hair longer than the standard boy locks). I'm finding that men with tattoo's are smoking... something else I'm beginning to appreciate.
“Don’t cry,” he whispers. “I can’t stand it when you cry.”
Their relationship starts off with a bang and although it seems fairly fast paced in this book, it's actually not. In fact they have known each other for a year if I remember correctly, by the time they actually get it one - so although it moves at a staggering speed in this book, it's in fact not the real case. I had to remind myself of this though, but still... I really couldn't care if they knew each other a week or a day - I adored them to bits as a couple.
Again... Kristen Proby doesn't try to fancy up her writing style with massive words and over descriptive details. It's plan and simple, to the point steamy and I truly appreciate that in a book. It makes it a pleasure to read and enjoy.
In short - The characters were brilliantly put together, the story was great... it could have had a little more drama... but it's not the end of the world that it didn't. In fact it may have been a little refreshing to read something that's just happy... there is a teeny bit of an issue, but it's not enough to give you any heart attacks.
Again... well done to Kristen Proby for nailing it dead on!
