Twenty-one-year-old Colt never wanted college and never expected to amount to anything, but when his mom's dying wish is for him to get his degree, he has no choice but to pretend it's what he wants too.
Cheyenne needs a fake boyfriend to get back at her ex and Colt needs cash to take care of his mom, so they strike a deal that helps them both. But what if Cheyenne’s past isn’t what she thought? Soon they’re trading one charade for another—losing themselves in each other to forget about their pain. The more they play their game, the more it becomes the only thing they have that feels real.
Both Cheyenne and Colt know life is never easy, but neither of them expect the tragedy that threatens to end their charade and rip them apart forever.

Seriously I didn't expect what this book gave me, but it has made me greedy and I want to keep it all to myself, I want to remember it for a very long time to come.
I have absolutely not a single complaint about Charade by Nyrae Dawn... except maybe that she kept me awake all night... and when I say all night, I mean that I started reading it at about 2am when I got into bed to help me fall asleep and right now I'm writing this review and I still haven't gone to bed and it's 9:30am here. So basically I haven't slept since I woke up yesterday morning... I guess that's my one and only complaint :) (But it's a good thing I freelance and work from home so I have ample time to catch up)
“You don't have to do it on your own. Let me take some of the weight, baby." But he has so much already. "You have your own problems." "We'll share each others.”Chey is fantastic. Even with all her issues... I loved her. She was sensational. Colt is even more spectacular. I adored him to bits.
This book was so emotional that I'm actually in a dark place right now... even if the ending was uplifting. I might even be developing an ulcer in my stomach because I was so worked up and I honestly cried!!! Which is so rare for me... but hell this book brought it all out of me.
There wasn't a moment in this entire book that I got distracted from. I read every word, every inch of this book is committed to my memory. I'm actually tempted to freak out and start it all over again immediately... but I honestly don't think my stomach can handle any more heartaches at this point... I'm going to have to pick up a light read after this one.
“I'm a prick half the time, but you make me better. You make me happy. I don’t want to lose you. I love you. I don’t want to lose you.”There's not much I can really recap about this book. The blurp pretty much sums it all up.
I read a review where someone mentioned it was predictable and I'm truthfully sitting back now and thinking about it and I don't know how they could think that. Sure if you are sharp enough you will pick up the just of what's going to happen, but it's how it happens and the emotions expressed while it happens that makes this book unique. I guess anyone who reads the blurb get's that the couple gets together... we are not that thick... it's a romance book after-all. Colt's mom's sick and of course you get where that leads, but really? Predictable is a word that should stay far far away from this book... Let me tell you the only thing you should predict from this book... You will be in turmoil... you will laugh, cry, clap your hands, giggle like a school girl and you will thank me later.
