Embrace the Forbidden
What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?
I'm totally in two minds about this book. I can't wait for the second installment Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy #2) to be release so I can eventually make up my mind on whether or not I like it or love it.
I enjoy the characters... they are easy to accept... I like Anna... but although I understand that she's part angel, part devil, there are times in the book when I think to myself She's just too much of a goody goody... And it started to annoy me... I had wished for some more risky moments from her side but it didn't really come around (well not in the first book anyway).
Kaidan is supposedly this hot and dreamy guy, yet Anna's impossible almost to be tempted into giving in and just do something with him already... it doesn't make sense to me! I was just a reader and I wanted to do hot stuff to Kaidan Rowe! So it bugged me that she was so controlled, with no serious lapse of judgement. Oh Well... Like I said maybe in the second part she'll melt under Kaidan stare.
I enjoyed this book for another reason: It had a good storyline. I also found the information within the book very easy to understand. There was a clear description of who is what and what everything means... Which I appreciate since most paranormal authors tend to make up their own lingo and don't always explain it properly. So Thumbs Wendy Higgins.
If you enjoy paranormal with a hint of romance well then this is a book you should read. I'm looking forward to the second installment... not bite my nails in anticipation... but mildly excited.
